An AC terminal block is a kind of electrical connector used to connect a range of electrical equipment. Installation of these devices may be carried out by nonprofessionals and involves a series of steps.

Safety

Never operate this device in an explosive atmosphere or any environment in which there may be flammable gases or fumes. As some safety issues may differ among different kinds of AC terminal blocks, it is important to always follow the recommended installation guidelines provided by the manufacturer. Regardless of the manufacturer, be sure to insulate all signal connections.

AC Coupling

Terminal blocks can either be set to AC or CD coupling. Be sure to set both channels for AC coupling. This should be done before any signals are connected to the terminal block.

Installation

There are two broad steps to installing an AC terminal block. The first step is to connect the module front connector to its mating connector on the block. The second step is to tighten the top and bottom thumbscrews on the back of the terminal. This holds it firmly in place.
