There are quite a number of terminal blocks (including computer terminal blocks) in the information technology field that are necessary to fix to a computer to have maximum usage. The power cord computer terminal block is needed to supply power to a PC. Its male end has to be connected to the outlet of the wall or any other socket that supplies the power from the main power source and the female end should be fixed to the power terminal block of the PC which is normally comes at the back side of the PC. Sometimes, one power cord is enough to give power both to the monitor and the CPU using another terminal block from the CPU to the monitor. The same thing can be done with two separate power cords connecting one to the monitor and the other to the CPU.
To connect Keyboards and Mice, there are two computer terminal blocks. Since they are in two colours, computer technicians or computer users do not have any difficulties in recognising them. Unlike modern types, the computer terminal blocks for these usages in the past had pins. They are called PS 2 terminal blocks. The user has to fix these terminal blocks to two sockets at the back of the computer matching their colours with the hue of the cables. Nowadays computers are with USB ports, or Universal Serial Bus. Therefore, all the computer terminal blocks including mice and keyboard terminal blocks come attached to USB cables, which are easily fixable to USB ports. The USB ports are at the back as well as in the front of modern computers.
USB operates with Plug and Play
technology. Unlike the earlier Pin types, these computer terminal blocks can be fixed or unfixed while computers are switched on. Square typed USB terminal blocks, mini type ones in Type A and Type B designs are available at present. Monitor cable terminal blocks are still found with pins. They are called D pin terminal blocks. Newer computers' digital video plugs come with flat screens. Monitors are with another socket for connecting DVD players and it is connectable with S-video jack that has tiny pins.
In addition, there are firewire computer terminal blocks, which are mostly connected with digital cameras and external HDs that normally consist of ports for firewires. To connect modem with telephone lines, there are computer terminal blocks called RJ11. They are usual telephone terminal blocks with four pins. The RJ-45 computer terminal block is used to obtain Ethernet connections. Printer connection cables are the next. They parallel printer cords and consist of DB 25 male plug at one end which is fixed to the printer and CN36 male terminal block at the other end which is fixed to the printer. All most all the printers are now connectable with computers through USB ports. In addition, there's a terminal block called DB9 that comes with the modern CPU to plug earlier digital cameras and modems.
