The Nitsuko 28i phone system comprises a fully functional phone system for use in any office environment. The system contains a mountable control panel, designed to save space and increase convenience within an office setting. The system enables all the vital features of an office telephone system, including voice mail, call waiting and transfer capabilities. While you can pay an installation company to set up this system, you can save money by following the instructions in the user manual for manual installation.
1
Use a screwdriver to unscrew the two screws on the front of the 28i cabinet cover. Lift the cover and gently slide it back to remove it. Use a screwdriver to screw the metal bracket into the Main Distribution Frame’s plywood backboard. Hang the cabinet on the mounting bracket. Use a screwdriver to secure the cabinet on the plywood backboard. You will find the location for the mounting screws in the lower left and right corners of the cabinet.
2
Place the main distribution bracket on the wall in the location you wish to secure it. Use an 1/8-inch drill bit to mount the frame onto the wall.
3
Connect the ground wires on the 28i system. Use 12 AWG stranded copper wire to wind three turns around the core of the system. Loosen the lugs on both ground connections in the system. Run a short jumper between the Earth Ground and PBX Ground lugs. Secure the core to cabinet using the plastic strap located at the base of the cabinet.
4
Plug the remote programming module into the header on the printer circuit board. Connect the respective module into the respectively labeled slot on the circuit board. You will find multiple eight-pin connectors in the installation kit for this purpose. Insert the battery into the battery clips. Hold down the “COLD” switch on the system while powering up. The system will automatically scan ports from the lowest to the highest slot.
5
Connect extensions to the main unit. Use the DDK connectors to run wire from the main board to each phone system. Install a modular jack for each extension no more than six feet away from the phone’s location. Terminate the white/blue to blue/white leads running to the green and red lugs in the modular jacks. Cross connect the wires between the B block and the cross-connect block. Repeat this for all extensions. You will now be able to use the Nitsuko 28i phone system with as many extensions as you have wired.
6
Slide the front cover back onto the 28i cabinet cover. Use a screwdriver to replace the screws on the front cover.
